The season
How the cricket season works in Skåne
Club cricket in Sweden is organised by the Swedish Cricket Federation (Svenska Cricketförbundet, SCF). Clubs register their teams at the start of the year and the federation publishes the match schedule before the season starts (for 2026 the schedule was published by 28 February).
Malmö Kings play T20 cricket in the Superettan, South group, against clubs from across Skåne. In 2026 we played 12 league matches between July and September and finished 6th of 13 teams with 6 wins, 6 losses and a positive net run rate.
During the winter the focus moves indoors: technique, fitness and team building, ready for the next outdoor season.

Malmö is a city of many languages and cultures, and cricket is loved in South Asia, Afghanistan, Australia, the UK, the Caribbean and Africa. For many families who have moved to Sweden it is a familiar sport in a new country, and for Swedish-born players it is an exciting new game to learn.
At Malmö Kings everyone is welcome: girls and boys, women and men, beginners and experienced players, from Malmö and nearby towns such as Lund, Lomma, Burlöv, Staffanstorp, Vellinge and Trelleborg.

Is there a cricket club in Malmö?
Yes. Malmö Kings Cricket Club is a non-profit cricket club in Malmö, founded in 2016, with players of all ages. We play T20 league cricket in the Swedish Cricket Federation Superettan and train all year round.
Where can I play cricket in Malmö?
From the last week of March to September we train and play outdoors at Lindängen and Limhamnsfältet. In the winter we train indoors at DR Cricket Academy in Malmö.
Can I join if I have never played cricket?
Yes. Beginners of every age are welcome. Our sessions start with the basics, and you can borrow club equipment for your first sessions.
Is there cricket for children in Malmö?
Yes. We run youth cricket for children and teenagers with coaches who focus on safety, fun and development. The yearly fee is 95 SEK up to 7 years old and 500 SEK for ages 7 to 16.
How much does it cost to play cricket?
Membership costs 95 SEK a year up to 7 years old, 500 SEK for ages 7 to 16 and 2,000 SEK from 16 years and above. Pay by Bankgiro 5155-0267.

Do I need my own cricket equipment?
No. New players can borrow bats, pads, gloves and helmets from the club for their first sessions. Many players buy their own gear later.
How do I join Malmö Kings Cricket Club?
Fill in the online membership form, pay the yearly fee and a club coordinator will confirm your registration and invite you to training. If you are moving from another club, upload your NOC in the same form.
Is there indoor cricket in Malmö in the winter?
Yes. Malmö Kings train indoors at DR Cricket Academy in Malmö throughout the winter, so players keep improving between outdoor seasons.
Are there other cricket clubs in Skåne?
Yes. In the 2026 Superettan South group we played teams from Malmö, Lund, Landskrona, Helsingborg and Lomma, among others.
How can I watch a cricket match in Malmö?
