Healthy routine

A fixed weekly training rhythm gives young people structure, something to look forward to and a healthy alternative to hours in front of screens.

What it means at Malmö Kings

Research consistently shows that regular physical activity improves young people’s mood, sleep and concentration. We keep sessions fun and varied so that children want to come back week after week, and we encourage families to join match days and club events.

Healthy routine at Malmö Kings

A rhythm that runs all year

Malmö Kings trains through the whole year. From the last week of March to September we are outdoors at Lindängen and Limhamnsfältet, and from October to March we train indoors at DR Cricket Academy in Malmö.

A steady weekly rhythm gives children something to look forward to in every season, not only in summer.

Healthy habits on and off the field

We encourage simple habits that support young athletes: drinking water, eating a proper meal before training, warming up and resting when the body needs it.

Coaches talk with players about sleep and recovery in a way that suits their age, and remind them that being healthy is about balance, not perfection.

Less screen time, more fresh air

Outdoor sessions in the summer mean fresh air, daylight and time with friends away from screens.

A regular training day can also give the week a clear structure, especially during long school holidays.

FAQ

Common questions

How often does my child need to train?

Once a week is a good start for most children. As players get more involved, many choose to come more often during the season. Contact us for the current training days and times.

Is there cricket in the winter?

Yes. From October to March we train indoors at DR Cricket Academy in Malmö, so children stay active and keep improving between outdoor seasons.

What should my child eat and drink before training?

A normal meal a couple of hours before training and a water bottle at the session are enough for most children. On warm summer days it is extra important to drink plenty of water.
