Net sessions & training
Malmö Kings trains all year round. In winter we move indoors to DR Cricket Academy in Malmö, and from the last week of March until September we train and play outdoors at Lindängen and Limhamnsfältet.
What it means at Malmö Kings
In the nets, batters face bowlers in a safe, enclosed lane while bowlers work on line, length and variation. Indoor winter sessions keep skills sharp and fitness up, so the team is ready when the outdoor season starts. Contact us for current training days and times, and come and try a session.
Net sessions & training at Malmö Kings
What happens in a net session
A net is an enclosed lane where a batter can face real bowling safely. Bowlers work on line, length and variations, batters practise their shots and defence, and coaches give feedback between deliveries.
Sessions usually also include fielding drills, catching practice and fitness work.
Winter indoors, summer outdoors
From October to March we train indoors at DR Cricket Academy in Malmö. Indoor nets are ideal for technique work, because the surface and bounce are consistent.
From the last week of March to September we train outdoors at Lindängen and play our home matches at Limhamnsfältet.
Training for every level
Beginners learn the grip, stance and bowling action, while experienced players work on specific skills such as playing spin, bowling at the end of an innings or keeping wicket.
Sessions are led by our Chairman and Head Coach Shahid Aslam, and experienced players help newer members.
Common questions
When are the training sessions?
Training days and times differ between the indoor and outdoor seasons. Contact us and we will send you the current schedule and tell you where to go for your first session.
Can I try a net session before I join?
Yes. Contact us first and come along to try a session. If you enjoy it, you can then register through the membership form.
Do I need my own bat and pads?
Not at the start. The club has equipment that new players can borrow. Many players buy their own bat, gloves and pads once they know they want to continue.
